Late 1800s D F Haynes and Co Calvertine Small Pitcher
We are offering a beautiful VINTAGE (late 1800s) D.F. Haynes & Co. Calvertine-style Pitcher. This is a lovely Victorian pitcher and bowl, with a lion's head on the handle and the old man of the north on the spout along with gold trimmed flowers in relief for the design. This piece is marked Toulon Dec. 909. Such a company does not exist in our research, so we think this may be a pattern name, or where this piece was manufactured. As for the Dec. 909, we are unsure what that means.
Measurements: The pitcher measures about 6 1/2 inches tall X 6 1/2 inches from handle to spout X 3 1/2 inch diameter opening.
Condition: This piece is in overall good, vintage condition. There are a few marks and this piece is highly crazed. The gold paint is wearing from natural wear. There are a few chips: a small one on the handle, one on the outside top, and one small one on the inside top (see photos below). It appears to be two-tone possibly not from manufacturing, but from exposure to the elements. Although, it could be from manufacturing. Overall this piece will still display beautifully.
